“So in this incredible book you will discover how to become a ‘change Ninja‘, and learn how to arrest the fear we have built up for ‘being shocked by lightning of change’ and see this as a new channel for growth.”

Judith E. Glaser,
Organizational Anthropologist and author of Conversational Intelligence (C-IQ)

Today, business organizations experience unprecedented levels of disruption (turbulence) and can only expect the unexpected. While they must perform in a VUCA world (one characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity), their ability to OODA (observe, orient, decide, and act) is no longer enough to survive and thrive amid disorder. In this new chaotic reality, while agility is essential for adapting and surviving, antifragility is essential for evolving and thriving. Business organizations must embrace this new reality and emerge stronger.

In The Antifragility Edge: Antifragility in Practice, Si Alhir (Sinan Si Alhir) demystifies antifragility, explores how antifragility may be operationalized or put into practice by business organizations (at the individual, collective, and enterprise levels), and offers an actionable roadmap for how business organizations can achieve greater antifragility.

Ecosystem Thinking

As stakeholders form an enterprise, there is an internal ecosystem of the individuals and collectives that form the enterprise, and there is an external ecosystem of the enterprise and other enterprises. The dynamics between the stakeholders (internal dynamics) and the dynamics of the enterprise within its ecosystem (external dynamics) determine the characteristics of the enterprise.

Individuals are fluid within the context of the collectives, collectives are flowing within the context of the enterprise, and the enterprise (an ecosystem organization / ecosystem business) is in flux within the context of the broader ecosystem (the ecosystem economy). The dynamics of how fluid an individual is, how flowing individuals are together as collectives, and how individuals and collectives flux together as an enterprise determines the characteristics of the enterprise.

Through this emerging worldview of ecosystem thinking, every human enterprise must catalyze itself as an ecosystem (within a broader ecosystem) that embodies foresight, agility, sustainability, robustness, resilience, antifragility, and humanity while embracing the edge.
